Government of India launches eGreetings portal

The Government of India on Thursday has launched its eGreetings portal as a part of the “Digital India” initiative. The portal was launched on the eve of India’s 67th Independence Day. The portal developed by the national Informatics Centre was launched by Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Communications and information Technology.

Digital India is an initiative taken by the Government of India to promote an eco-friendly way of sending greetings by government ministries and officials to colleagues and friends.

The portal allows the users to send a greeting from a several templates available for an occasion. It also allows users to select a quote of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be sent as part of the greeting.
