Acer at its IFA event on Wednesday has revealed the Aspire R 13, Aspire R 14, Aspire Switch 10 and Aspire Switch 11 series of notebooks. The Aspire Switch 10 and 11 belongs to Acer Switch 2-in-1 series, which combines a notebook and a tablet in one device. All the devices runs on Microsoft Windows 8.1.
The Aspire Switch10 SW5-012 features a 10.1-inch display with two resolutions – 1920 x 1200pixels (Full HD) or 1280 x 800pixels (HD) with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by an Intel Atom quad-core processors with 2GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage. It also offers a 2MP HD webcam with 1920 x 1080 resolution and 1080pixels which allows Full HD audio/video recording. The device is pre-loaded with Windows 8.1 and comes with a free subscription of Microsoft Office 365 Personal for 1 year. The device will be available in September in Pan America with prices starting at US$329.99, and in EMEA with prices starting at €329.
The Aspire Switch11 features 11.6-inch display with Corning Glass 3. The Aspire Switch 11 SW5-171 features a full HD 1080p display and is powered by a 4th generation Intel Core i5 processor with 4GB of memory and 128GB of storage. The Aspire Switch SW5-111 features a 1366x768pixels display and is powered by an Intel Atom quad-core processor with 2GB of memory and 64GB eMMC storage. Both the devices comes with a Full HD 1080p webcam which allows Full HD Audio/Video recording. The device will be available in October in Pan America with prices starting at US$399, in EMEA with prices starting at €399.
The Acer Aspire R13 features a 13.3-inch IPS touch display with two resolutions – super high-resolution (WQHD) (2560 x 1440pixels) or Full HD (1920 x 1080)pixels with Zero Air Gap Technology and Acer Active Pen. The pen comes with a pressure sensor for professional drawing and a hover sensor for easy access to functions. It also supports palm rejection so users can write on the screen comfortably. With great accuracy and sensitivity, the Acer Active Pen can be used as a computer mouse, with the upper and lower buttons serving the same functions as the left and right buttons on a mouse. The device is powered by an Intel Core i5 or i7 processors with 8GB of memory and 1TB of SSD with RAID-0 support. The device comes with Ezel Aero hinge that provides both flexibility and stability, which enables it to be used in six different modes – Notebook mode, Ezel mode, Stand mode, Pad mode, Tent mode and Display mode. It will be available in October in Pan America with prices starting at $899.99 (USD), in November in EMEA with prices starting at €899, and in Asia.
The Aspire R14 series features a 14-inch HD (1366 x 768) display with Zero Air Gap technology, which helps to eliminate reflections in sunlight, resulting in higher contrast and crisper images. Models are available with a range of Intel processors, including Pentium, Core i3, i5 or i7, and can be configured with up to 12GB of memory and 500GB or 1TB of storage. Some models offer NVidia GeForce 820M graphics to enrich the overall visuals. The R14 series will be available in October in Pan America with price starting at $599.99 (USD), from mid-October in EMEA with price starting at €499, and in Asia.
