Sony introduces Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact at IFA 2014

Sony at its IFA 2014 event announced a new tablet Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. The tablet sports an 8-inch Full HD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz, fully integrated with Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM.


The tablet runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable upto 128GB using a microSD card. The tablet comes with a IP65/68 rating – both dust proof and water proof. The device features a 8.1MP autofocus rear camera and 2.2MP front facing camera. The tablet also includes 4G-LTE and packs a 4500mAh battery.

The tablet also supports PS4 Remote Play which allows users to use their tablet as a remote screen to connect and control their PS4 games onto the tablet over the home Wi-Fi network – this functionality will only be rolled out in November. A DualShock 4 Wireless Controller and GCM10 Game Control Mount will be required to play games. A WiFi only variant of the tablet was also announced.
