Samsung launches Galaxy Note 7 at an event in New York. The device includes both an iris scanner and a fingerprint scanner. It will be available starting on August 19, 2016.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 sports a 5.7inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The device is dust and water resistant with IP68 certification. It is powered by an octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM. The device includes of built-in storage of 32GB and expandable storage of upto 256GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 features a ‘Dual – Pixel’ 12MP primary camera with dual LED flash. The ‘Dual – Pixel’ technology allows you to click sharp images even in low – light conditions. It also includes a 5MP front facing camera. The smartphone includes support for 4G LTE, WIFi (Dual – Band, Bluetooth, GPS, Wireless Charging, NFC and USB Type – C. The device also packs a 3,500mAh battery. It includes a Users will also receive 15GB of free storage on Samsung Cloud.
The company has also introduced a new S Pen. It comes with IP68 certification also Smart Select functions for users to create and share GIF animations, and Air Command functions for magnify and translate.
According to the company, the Galaxy Note 7 comes with the company’s Knox software clubbed with biometric authentication for enhanced security. The ‘Secure Folder,’ feature is an addition it. It is a folder that can be locked using biometric credentials for keeping confidential information safe.
Samsung is also partnering with Amazon to provide HD content to your phone. The device will be available in Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx. The company didn’t disclose any pricing information.
