IMC 2017: Samsung Galaxy Note 8 wins ‘Gadget of the Year’ Award

Samsung’s flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy Note 8 wins the ‘Gadget of the Year’ Award at the India Mobile Congress, 2017. This was the first edition of India Mobile Congress. The handset is priced at ₹ 67,900 and can be purchased online via Amazon India website.

The Galaxy Note 8 sports a 6.30 inch Quad HD+ SuperAMOLED display. The phone also boasts IP68 dust and water resistance rating and includes support for S Pen and DeX. The handset is powered by a 64-bit 10nm octa-core processor with 6GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal memory. The device will also include an expandable memory slot that supports upto 256GB via microSD card. The handset runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and also includes Bixby Virtual assistant.

The Galaxy Note 8 also features a 12MP dual rear camera with dual OIS and Dual Capture mode which allows both rear cameras take two pictures simultaneously – Close-up shot from the telephoto lens and Wide-angle shot that shows the entire background. On the front, it has got an 8MP auto-focus camera. The handset packs a 3,300mAh battery with support for Fast Wireless charging. The handset accepts only Nano-SIM cards. Other features include 4G LTE, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, MST and USB OTG. Sensors on phone include Accelerometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Hall Sensor, Heart Rate Sensor, Proximity Sensor, RGB Light Sensor, Iris Sensor and Pressure Sensor.
